Lukla Shots

Privacy policy

Last updated November 2, 2026 (update checks added in version 1.1). This covers the Lukla Shots app for Mac, made by Lukla Logic LLC.

What we collect

Nothing. Lukla Shots has no account, no analytics and no advertising. It never uploads your screenshots or anything about you.

Update checks

Once a day, and when you choose Check for Updates…, the app downloads a small file from shots.luklalogic.ai that lists the newest version. The request identifies the app and its version, and like any web request it comes from your IP address. Nothing else is sent. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings. Updates are signed, and the app only installs ones signed by us.

Your screen

macOS asks you to allow Screen Recording, which every screenshot app needs. Lukla Shots reads the screen only when you take a capture, and only to make that capture. For region and window captures it takes a still image of your displays so you can choose what to keep; anything you don't keep is discarded straight away.

Your captures

Captures go only where you send them: your clipboard, the folder you choose (~/Pictures/Lukla Shots unless you change it), the image editor you choose, or the Lukla editor. To open a capture you haven't saved in another editor, the app writes a temporary copy, which is removed the next time the app starts. The app also remembers your last few captures in memory for the menu bar, until it quits.

Window names

To name files like “Safari 2026-11-02 at 14.05.09.png”, the app reads the name and title of the app and window you captured. These are used only for the file name, on your Mac.

Settings

Your settings, such as shortcuts, destinations and the file name template, are kept on your Mac in the app's preferences.
